📏 Sort Your Way Through Identifying Units of Measurement

Are you looking for an activity that sharpens your students’ measurement skills? This resource will give your students plenty of practise determining the correct metric unit to use when measuring objects of varying sizes using kilometres, metres, and centimetres.

This activity can be completed with a partner or in a small group. To complete it, students will lay out the sorting mats and then sort the picture cards into categories based on whether they would be better suited to be measured in centimetres, metres, or kilometres.

Through this activity, students will demonstrate their ability to identify the correct unit needed to measure objects of different sizes.
